A little More Specific
The information below will give you an outline of some of the projects and ventures we have been involved in.
Experience included building up and configuring systems (DOS, Windows, UNIX). I used to upgrade PDP/11's with 68000 CPU's and set them up with 4.2 bsd Unix. Wrote packages for legal billing, fund raising and clothing store boutique inventory using Unify database with 'C'. Sold and installed vertical market distribution, professional time and billing, and general ledger for accounting firms on Xenix/ Unix systems.
Was a Computervision and Autocad Dealer selling and training customers in the use of Computer Aided Drafting. Clients have included Xerox Corp. where we did extensive dbase II programming, the Chicago Board of Trade and the University of Chicago. Developed software package for the carwash /detailing industry written using Access Database. Projects have also involved general business consulting and financial modeling. Build high performance computer systems for graphics using hi-resolution film scanners with Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and Corel software. Involved in web page creation using our background in graphics.
In 1998 we worked with Advent Business Systems, Inc. out of San Mateo CA on system software design, specifications and programming with Progress database running on SCO Unix servers on a vertical market package for the Cardlock fuel distribution industry. Participated in strategic planning and marketing with the president of Advent. Worked system sales and industry trade shows. Spent time consulting, installing and troubleshooting for existing clients.
We have worked for two systems houses servicing their customers. We have been involved in setting up and building NT4 servers, installing Fax servers, switches, internet connection sharing, upgrading Novell, converting Novell servers to NT servers and setting up Adaptec RAID controllers.
We also supported a retail cash register system which uses the Access Database or SQL server for a local VAR where we preformed data conversions, trouble shooting and program modifications in Access and Visual Basic.
Created ASP database driven website for a large National Club as well as numerous websites with graphics, photography and php with MySQL web based scripts. We did a large web based data conversion from a SQL server based forum to a Unix based forum.
Completed a Vb6 project for a Chicago Board of Options trading firm utilizing socket communications between floor traders on the CBOE and their office. Network support and installation for new wireless systems using 802.11g systems.
Setup and configuration of Unix / linux systems including Red Hat, Free BSD and Suse with Apache Webserver, Sendmail, MySql, PHP and Majordomo mailing lists. Setup and configured open source OS Commerce ecommerce software.
Presently Working with an IBM Var doing SAN's using storage arrays, fibre switches and IBM San volume controllers. I've also been exposed to the latest RFID technology.
